Code2Box ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit our website code2box.com or use our services.

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

• Cody chat: anything you type or say to our chat assistant (see section 6)

By default, this site sets only the essential cookies it needs to function. We use two analytics tools, and they are not the same:

Plausible Analytics, always active. Plausible is a privacy-first tool that uses no cookies and collects no personal data. It counts visits in aggregate and cannot identify you.

Google Analytics, only if you accept. When you first visit, a cookie banner asks for your consent (using Google Consent Mode, with the default set to declined). If you decline or ignore the banner, Google Analytics stays off and sets no cookies. If you accept, it sets cookies to measure how the site is used. You can withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie settings, and the cookies will stop.

Our website includes Cody, an AI chat assistant. Conversations you have with Cody are stored, and are processed by OpenAI to generate answers. If you use the voice input, your audio is transcribed to text for the same purpose.

Please don't share sensitive personal data in the chat, health, financial, or identity information belongs in an email to us, not a chatbot. To have your chat history deleted, contact us at hello@code2box.com.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address and the timestamp of your signup, and use them solely to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing hello@code2box.com, and we will delete your address.

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Contact form submissions are typically retained for 2 years. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Cody chat conversations are deleted on request.

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Erasure: Request deletion of your data
• Restriction: Request we limit processing of your data

We use a small number of third-party services to run this site: Plausible (cookieless analytics), Google Analytics (only with your consent), and OpenAI (which processes Cody chat conversations to generate answers). Each receives only what it needs to do its job.

Our website may also contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated revision date.
